Replacement straws for Thermos Bottles

Sorry this has nothing to do with coding.

But if you have kids and have the Thermos aluminum straw Bottles such as the Thermos Funtainer or Foogo Straw bottles, you can get replacement straws directly from Thermos for $1 a piece. My kids like to bite the straws and they get destroyed pretty quickly. If you need just the top part of the straw, that would be $0.50.

Apparently, people are reselling these straws on Ebay and other sites for $7-$10 a piece! So Thermos is limiting each order to 5 straws. I am putting this out there to hopefully direct people to the source.

Call Thermos directly at 1-800-831-9242 to order your replacement straws. If outside the US, try 1-847-439-7821.

  1. Hi. Thank you for posting. It’s very helpful to know because we are debating whether buying new bottle or the straws from EBay or Amazon as a last resort.

  2. Thank you so much for the info, I was checking on other websites and indeed the prices were $6.95 each. With this info you’ve provided, I’m definitely ringing thermos to find out!

    Thanks again!!

    Happy New Year!

  3. Just wanted to say thanks for this tip. We have 2 of the Funtainers because the straw on the first one was chewed. When searching online I was surprised to replacements being sold for $10! This info saved me time and money. Two thumbs up!

  4. Thank you so much! You just saved me so much money. I just paid $7 for 4 straws and shipping. The straws for both ours were looking pretty gross wasn’t sure if it was juice stained or dirty. Glad I did a google search and found your blog!

  5. Hi. I am from the Philippines and I was looking for a replacement straw that I could buy online so my friend in the US can bring it here. I was surprised to see that the price of a replacement straw was even more expensive than the bottle itself that I thought I would just buy a new bottle. Your post was really helpful. If you don’t mind, can I also order via email since I am not from US?

  6. Hi Cres mayor: Glad this helps. I am not sure if there’s an email address to order. You may want to give them a call. I would guess that calling them is the only way to order. Chinh

  7. Hi Chinh, I tried calling the number posted above but the same was incorrect. Would you know if there is any new number?

  8. I ordered 5 today, and the total price was only $8 (including $3 shipping)! When you call, you will need a model # I don’t have it so I went online and got one that was similar.
    Thank you!

  9. Just an FYI. I just tried to call and they are completely out of stock and not expecting any for 3 weeks. They don’t take backorders so you have to call back. Bummer.

  10. Thanks for the info! I called the number today, but unfortunately, they are out of the straw parts as of 8/15/13. The representative said that they’ll have it back in stock in about 4 weeks. I’ll give them a call next month. Also, be sure to have the product model number available (I had to look mine up on Amazon.com). Thanks again!

  11. Thanks for this info, however I an in Australia and this number does not connect can u provide the full international number that I would be able to call.

    Thanks Debra

  12. I almost paid $7 for one too. Thank you so much for your post! Now we’re getting 5 @$1 each for $8 (including shipping). These are the best water bottles we’ve found…just needed new valves, thank you!!!

  13. Hi…
really helpfull..have found the posts in abay after finding the company closed after hours..wanted to buy because i have no idea of the price …till thankfull found your link

  14. Thank you for the tip! I was able to order the straws and mouthpieces for $1 each set over the phone, plus $3 shipping. As of July 2015 the direct phone number to order replacement straws from Thermos is (800) 831-9242 (press 1 at the automated menu). Have your thermos model number ready (you can get that from the listing of the thermos on Amazon).

  15. I plan on calling the company directly tomorrow morning. Thank you very much for the information and for the phone number to call them. Greatly appreciated!

  16. Thanks! Just wonder where did you find the model number. I checked around the bottles, and couldn’t see anything. Do you mind pointing me to the location? Maybe my bottles are so wore out.

  17. Thanks, this was very helpful. I have to say, if thermos had made the straws available in the first place, I wouldn’t have ordered (what turned out to be the wrong straw) from ebay for $9! It was most frustrating.
